School starts at 8:20A.M. every morning. When I walked in the room there was morning work on my desk. Mrs. Truby gave my class two paper to start off Tuesday morning. After I handed in any homework I had in my binder, I sat down and went to work. The announcements came and a person named Travis from Mrs. Granell's class said the Pledge of Allegiance. After that was done I sat down to finish my morning work, and I also talked with my friend McKenzie who sits next to me.
My teacher said," Please put your morning work away and get out a piece of paper from your binder." So, once the class had their paper out my teacher explained that we would be writing a letter to someone we are thankful for. I wrote about my aunt and why I am thankful for her.
At 9:10 we got out our library books and learned a little more about the Dewy Decimal system. My librarian gave the class a packet and explained what to do, and then we did it. Then, I renewed a book and checked out another book, so I could do plenty of reading this long Thanksgiving break. We got our up-slip signed. (Which is a paper that specials teachers sign to say how our behavior was.) Then we added a coupon to the coupon list and on Friday's we get paid in coupons. ( which are money in Trubyville.)
Once library was over, Mrs. Truby let us have a recess. I played Volleyball four square. This is where you play a game like four square but play it like volleyball. You make sure the ball can't touch the ground in you square or you are out. The point of the game is to get to king. The other three squares are queen ( the second best), the baby ( third to the best), and dungeon (fourth to the best or the worst.)
Once we went in, Mrs. Truby gave us extra time to finish our letter and eventually everyone was done. We went to Town Time. My town is named Trubyville. In my town, I am the mayor, Emme is the major, Nick is the hunter, Evan is the fisherman, and Joseph is the lumberjack. We also have 5 invisible people that have different job titles.
We had a Thanksgiving feast on the fifth grade floor. We had decorations and food that the parent provided. Some of the delicious food we had was turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and pies. My mom and I provided juice and cups. At my table was McKenzie, Brenden, Evan, Nicholas, and Mrs. Truby. Once half the class was finished eating, we went out for recess. I talked to my friends and then we all joined in to play volleyball four square. My teacher gave the whole class an extra long recess because we didn't have band. If we did have band like we usually do, I would have put my Clarinet together and go to band. Once recess was over we went back to class.
Mrs.Truby read us a book, and we took AR tests on it. After that we had time to have another Town Time to help us prepare for the winter that's coming. Twenty minutes later we headed to music. In music, we watched a movie to help us memorize a song for our Winter Holiday Show. Mr. Dary, my music teacher, walked us to the gym where dismissal is held. It was the end of a normal Tuesday, and then we had a 5 day break ( including the weekend.) Happy Thanksgiving!!!!
